Business Data Analyst

“Data is not a nightmare. Your decision without data is the real nightmare."
My name is Yandi Hermawan, and my journey into the world of data was never straightforward.
I graduated with a degree in Business Management from Binaniaga University of Indonesia. During my thesis, while many of my peers were comfortable using SPSS for statistical analysis, I found myself asking: “Can we go further?”
That curiosity led me to discover Python. What started as an experiment quickly became a passion. Data and Python turned into my sword and shield — tools that allowed me not just to analyze, but to truly understand patterns, predict outcomes, and transform raw numbers into decisions that matter.
Currently, I dedicate my skills to projects that create tangible impact.
At Yayasan Cipta Mandiri, a non-profit educational organization in Bogor, I don’t just teach English to students. I also built a machine learning algorithm that helps classify students into the right classes — ensuring each learner gets the education that fits their needs best.
Beyond education, I’m working on designing database systems and workflows for savings and loan cooperatives, enabling small businesses to manage finances more effectively. It’s more than just code and queries; it’s about empowering communities to grow sustainably with the right tools.
The world of data is evolving fast, and so am I.
I continuously expand my knowledge in:
Deep Learning & Natural Language Processing to harness the power of unstructured data.
Business Analytics to connect insights with real-world business strategies.
Database & Workflow Design to streamline processes and improve decision-making at scale.
But more than just learning tools and techniques, my goal is always to bridge the gap between data and business impact.
I believe what makes me different is not just the technical skillset, but the way I approach problems:
With my business background, I see data not as numbers, but as a reflection of decisions, behaviors, and opportunities.
With my technical expertise, I can translate complex data into insights that are simple, actionable, and impactful.
With my mindset for impact, I seek projects where analysis isn’t the end goal — but the beginning of meaningful change.
Whether it’s helping an NGO place students more effectively, assisting small businesses to manage finances, or enabling organizations to see clarity in complexity, I thrive where data meets purpose. But anyway, if you are looking for someone who can combine business acumen, technical expertise, and a drive to make an impact, I would love to collaborate.
Outside of analytics, I find balance in music. Playing instruments gives me the same joy as analyzing datasets: both are about finding harmony in complexity. This passion keeps me creative, curious, and persistent — qualities I bring into every project I take on.
